Sir, Thank you for a substantive and well written article on refugees and the European Union by Tyler Durden (EU Sues Poland, Hungary, and Czech Republic for Refusing to Accept Refugees. Zero Hedge, June 14, 20.17.) For a citizen of one of these countries, Hungary, it is hearthworming to see that the author, unlike many others, exhibits objectivity and shows an understanding of the standpoint of the three Central European countries in question. See eg. „the former Soviet satellite nations rightfully justify their stance of asylum seekers, by citing security concers...” (as well as other serious concerns, as elaborated in the article.)
The author quotes Polish Deputy foreign minister Conrad Symanski and Check Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, both sharply criticizing Brussels for launching infringement procedures against the three memeber states. Somewhat surgrisingly, however, he does not quote at all the responsible Hungarian commentator, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto. This is a pity because the Minister is quite straightforward and hits the nail right on the head, as eg. in the following: „While the European Commission is doing a very good job on picking on some countries and there is apparently no limit to double standards, why does it not worry instead about trying to give back security to the European people? There has not even been a decent conference on this vital issue.” He referred among other things to the fact that hundreds of people died within a short time in terrorist attacks, therefore it is legitimate and timely to ask the question: when will the organizations of the European Union seriously deal with this? Indeed, when will they? L. Pordany
